What is a waste audit and why do one?
A waste audit is a formal, structured process used to quantify the amount and types of waste being generated by an organisation. Information from audits will help identify current waste practices and how they can be improved. Being waste-wise can mean:
- A more efficient and effective organisation.
- Reduced waste management costs.
- Better use of limited natural resources.
Who carries out the audit?
We do, whilst clearing your waste we record specific waste streams we’re removing and what percentage of the load each waste stream is , from that we can look to analyse those figures along with our monthly recycling rates and then for example work out how much money your business is spending on recycling versus landfill and how much weight is being recycled versus landfill.
A lot of our commercial clients now welcome our waste audit service; it enables them to look at specific areas of their business to see what adjustments they can make in order hit their own recycling targets.
